“I’m so excited. I didn’t want to put too many eggs in a basket and worry about it too much, because I love the show no matter what. My husband Greg [Naughton] came in, and to be honest we were sleeping! I woke up about 10 minutes ago. I didn’t want to set myself up for disappointment, so I figured I’d let someone call me. My husband turned his phone on and my manager had called him. She’d called me six times already! I have messages from everyone in my life—I haven’t gone through everything yet. And you know how Facebook is, I I have 150 messages to go through! It’s a little bittersweet because I love Matthew [Broderick]. We’re such a team and the show wouldn’t work without him, so it’s upsetting that he was left out, but I’m very excited for the rest of us and I hope it does great things for the show. I’m so grateful for [the nomination], especially for something so fun. That’s the best indication of when something feels good and is going right. It’s like lots of good icing on the cake. Today I’m going to take my two year old to his cooking class and I can’t imagine anything better. The best thing is they don’t know anything about [the Tonys] there. I’m Kelli the Mom when I go there. They make some pretty interesting things, it’s a mystery every time—hopefully it’s something yummy!”
